About Me

My name is Tamara Oborn.  I grew up in Mesa, AZ, and Pleasant Grove, Utah is now my home of over 15 years.  WIth the support of city leadership, I created PG Cares in 2020, a community prevention coalition dedicated to strengthening I families and reducing the risk of addiction, abuse, and suicide.   I am on the executive board of PG Cares and teach Positive Psychology at Pleasant Grove High School.

I graduated with my BA in Political Science in 2006. I completed half of my undergraduate degree at ASU and half at BYU.  I graduated from the SUU MPA program in April 2024.

I married my husband Dane in 2005 and we have four beautiful children, one dog, and two cats. My family is the reason I am passionate about prevention work and hope to help make my community a better place.
